San Diego Padres Return to Petco Park with Exciting Renovations and Tribute to Tony Gwynn

San Diego Padres are back at Petco Park. This Monday, the 12 & Imperial building opened its doors again for the exhibition series against the Seattle Mariners, but before that the ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the renovated Gallagher Square, a space dedicated to fans of the Mariners. Friars, but above all Tony Gwynn, who will have his statue as the main attraction of this renovated space.

With the motto “More than a Ballpark,” the Californian organization continues investing to improve and provide better spaces for its fans.

Featuring San Diego Padres CEO Erik Greupner, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, Alicia Gwynn, Tony Gwynn Jr. (wife and son), as well as Hall of Famer and former Friars player Trevor Hoffman, who also has a statue in nearby Gallagher Square, held the event before a hundred special guests.

“My father’s dream is that people would always remember him. We are all proud and that new generations can appreciate what he did with this type of recognition is something very important for our family,” said Tony Gwynn Jr.

PETCO IS RENEWED

In addition to the renovation of Gallagher Square, Petco Park opened a new super luxury section. The Cutwater Agave Club is the premium seating section located in left field of the stadium.
