Fourth in the world, Elena Rybakina qualified for the quarter-finals after her victory in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) against Madison Keys. The Kazakh won her 20th match of the 2024 season, which made her the third player to achieve this, after Iga Swiatek and Emma Navarro, proof of her very good start to the season. She joins Maria Sakkari (9th in the world), another in-form player, in the quarter-finals in a promising duel, the two having already reached a WTA 1,000 final this season. Each time they were beaten by Iga Swiatek. To qualify for the quarter-finals, Sakkari took advantage of Anna Kalinskaya’s withdrawal.
Victoria Azarenka (32nd in the world) dominated Katie Boulter in two sets (7-5, 6-1) to reach the quarters where she will face Yulia Putintseva.
