RUURLO – Lately it has not been possible to organize another regional youth badminton competition. One association no longer had a youth department and other associations participated in the association competition with youth members.

However, together with badminton club Babo from Borculo and LBC’72 from Lichtenvoorde, Badminton club Ruurlo has resumed the regional youth competition. Four weeks ago the kick-off took place in Lichtenvoorde. This was very well received by the youth members and they could hardly wait for the next meeting.
Badminton Club Ruurlo hosted the second round of this mutual competition last Saturday: the so-called Berkel Competition. A total of nine teams participated: Badminton club Ruurlo with four teams, Babo with two teams and LBC’72 with three teams. The pairs played against all teams. So each team played eight eight-minute games.
The teams from Ruurlo 1 and 3 finished first with fourteen points. Lichtenvoorde 1 came second with twelve points and Lichtenvoorde 2 and 3 and Ruurlo 2 finished in shared third place with eight points each.
The third round will take place in the Borculose sports hall ‘t Timpke on Saturday, April 20. Starts at 1:00 PM.
