At the end of a hard-fought semi-final Rossana Pasquino managed to get through to the final by beating the Belarusian Kastsiuchkova by a single hit (15-14). In the final the Samnite athlete shows off her great grit and determination, making it the decisive match against the Turkish Van Achte 8-6, which allows her to win the title of European sword champion.

Immense joy for all the staff of the Italian Paralympic national team and in particular for the technical coordinator of the national team and Master of the Olympic Academy Dino Better who has followed Rossana Pasquino with trust and dedication from the beginning, bringing her to the international spotlight of paralympic fencing.

“It’s a great emotion – comments Meglio – because it is above all a victory for a friend with whom I shared everything: training, chatting and many speeches. We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, I knew that sooner or later it would come and now it’s just time to party.”

After this splendid success, Rossana Pasquino will return to the stage tomorrow for the team épée competition, while on Friday she will be engaged in the individual saber test.
