Cristiano Ronaldo still in the spotlight though Al Nassr lost 0-1 to Al Ain in the first leg of the quarter-finals Liga Champions AsiaMonday (4/3).

Soufiane Rahimi scored the winning goal for the hosts from close range in the 44th minute. Rahimi managed to complete Alejandro Romero’s bait in front of Al Nassr’s goal.

Ronaldo returned as a starter after previously serving a one-match suspension due to inappropriate actions when facing Al Shabab.

The Portuguese superstar actually had a number of golden opportunities to score goals. However, Ronaldo’s attempt was thwarted by goalkeeper Khalid Eisa.

First, Eisa managed to block Ronaldo’s volley in the 44th minute. Furthermore, Ronaldo’s close range shot in the 80th minute was also blocked by Eisa who performed brilliantly.

During injury time, precisely in the 99th minute, Ronaldo almost scored a spectacular goal from the midfield line.

Seeing that the goalkeeper was standing slightly forward, Ronaldo then fired a long-range shot towards the goal. Unfortunately, the ball still deviated slightly to the left of the goal even though the goalkeeper was overwhelmed.
