Rockets Extend Winning Streak to 10 Games with Overtime Victory Over Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Jalen Green produced 37 points and the Houston Rockets won their 10th consecutive victory, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 132-126, in overtime on Wednesday.

Amen Thompson added 25 points and 15 rebounds, and Dillon Brooks contributed to the score with 20 for the Rockets, who began the day one game behind the Golden State Warriors in the dispute for the last tournament berth in the Western Conference.

Josh Giddey matched his career-high 31 points for the Thunder, one night after scoring a season-high 25 in the win over New Orleans. Jalen Williams added 23 and 10 assists for Oklahoma City, which started tonight a half-game behind West-leading Denver.

Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was ruled out with a bruised right hip. He is the third-highest scorer in the league, averaging 30.4 points.

The Thunder led 69-62 when Giddey fouled Jabari Smith Jr. Giddey tried to help him and Brooks shoved him, receiving a technical foul. It was the 14th call on Brooks this season, putting him two away from receiving a one-game suspension.

Williams hit a three-pointer for the Thunder to tie the game at 112 with 4.7 seconds left. Jalen Green’s layup at the buzzer rolled out, forcing overtime. Brooks hit two three-pointers to start overtime to give the Rockets control.
