Robert Lewandowski’s Quest for Pichichi Trophy in La Liga

With twelve goals scored in 24 La Liga days, Robert Lewandowski (35) is still in the race to finish top scorer in the Spanish championship. He is only four lengths behind leader Jude Bellingham (20 years old) and everything remains open. If the Pole manages to finish at the top of this ranking, he would equal a nice record.

In the recent history of the Spanish championship, only one other player has managed to obtain the honorary Pichichi trophy twice in a row during his first two seasons in La Liga, in this case Mario Kempes with Valencia in 1976-1977 and in 1977 -1978. Last year, Lewandowski scored 23 goals, more than any other player in the Spanish league. A challenge to take on for the former Bayern Munich player.
