Rising Star Charline Maronnat Shines at French Para-Archery Championship

Charline Maronnat, a 23-year-old archer with the Compagnie d’Arc Yzeure, shone at the French para-archery championship, at L’Île Bouchard (Indre-et-Loire).

Licensed for only 18 months, Charline qualified for her first national competition thanks to an average of 454 points out of 600 throughout the indoor season.

At the end of the qualifying shots, the Yzeurian archer ranked 4th with 426 points, which allowed her to reach the semi-finals. During these, she was going to seek her qualification for the grand final. Final, where she faced Thomine De Luze, from the Fontainebleau club and reigning French vice-champion.

After five ends, the two archers were tied with five points each. It was therefore on a shoot-off arrow that the gold medal was fought for. Charline lost with an 8 against a 9 for her opponent, but she leaves with a beautiful silver medal around her neck.
