“I start school life energetically with morning exercise.”

The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education will operate the ‘Morning Exercise Exciting (Asinna)’ program, one of its policies to revitalize school physical education, starting in April.

The ‘Asinna’ program, which is being held in 205 schools in the province, is designed to encourage students who want to participate in morning sports activities to start their day energetically and excitedly by participating in various sports activities at the playground or gymnasium before the start of the first period.

It has already been proven through many studies that morning physical activity improves students’ social skills and adaptability to school life, and that it helps improve academic ability by increasing concentration by improving brain waves.

The Provincial Office of Education receives applications from desired schools and provides project expenses of up to 5 million won per school to a total of 205 schools, including 113 elementary schools, 65 middle schools, and 27 high schools.

Based on the autonomy of each school, programs appropriate for that school were organized and operated.

Considering the size of the school, the operation type can be selected according to conditions, such as △ overall activity type △ school sports club-linked type △ 365+ physical education activities and health and physical fitness classes.

Lee Seo-gi, head of the Department of Cultural Arts and Physical Health, said, “If you start your day happily with morning exercise, you can create a positive day,” and added, “Through Asinna activities, we hope that our students will not only develop physical strength, but also develop understanding, compromise, and good character.” “I look forward to it,” he said.
