Rescheduled Matches Announced for Belgian Championship’s Final Day

After Anderlecht – Kortrijk, three other matches of the 30th and final day of the classic phase of the Belgian championship have been rescheduled, the Pro League announced on Sunday.

Initially scheduled for Sunday March 17 (6:30 p.m.), the Standard – Eupen match will finally take place on Saturday March 16 at 6:15 p.m., opening this final day, and will be followed by the duel between the RSCA and the red lantern Kortrijk (8:45 p.m.).

Scheduled for Sunday March 17 at 6:30 p.m., the Sint-Truiden – FC Bruges and Antwerp – Union matches have had their times changed. The Canaries will host the Gazelles at 1:30 p.m. and the defending champions will host the championship leader at 4:00 p.m.

These duels are moved for organizational reasons and at the request of the rights holder in order to distribute as many matches as possible. This is possible because these matches no longer matter for playoff tickets.“, indicates the Pro League.

After Union and Anderlecht, Antwerp and FC Bruges validated their ticket for the Champions playoffs this weekend.

Four matches, those still having a stake in the race for the playoffs, remain scheduled for March 17 at 6:30 p.m.: Cercle Bruges – RWDM, La Gantoise – Charleroi, OHL – Mechelen and Westerlo – Genk.

Genk, Mechelen, Cercle Bruges and La Gantoise are aiming to qualify for the Champions Playoffs. Charleroi, Westerlo and OHL hope to escape the playdowns.

The playoff schedule will be known on Monday March 18.
