LE SCAN SPORT – In a press release published Friday, Stade Rennais regretted the attitude of Puy-en-Velay (N2), during its match against Petit Poucet in the Coupe de France (won 3-1 this Thursday) which caused controversy over sharing the recipe.

The magic of the Coupe de France did not work during this quarter-final won by Rennes against Puy Foot 43 (3-1), and even less off the field, when it came time to do the accounts. Phillipe Thiebault, financial director of the amateur club, spoke of his disappointment with his opponent, who decided to keep part of the revenue amounting to €55,000.

“So disappointed that the best club in Ligue 1 currently is lowering itself to this. For your information Mr. Pinault, your club has collected €370,000 in funding from the FFF since the start of the competition with Thursday evening’s victory. Doing that to an amateur club that doesn’t have the right to play at home is not very nice! I let social networks do the rest. he wrote hotly

This decision by the Ligue 1 resident was not taken at random, even more so when we know that they left the entire revenue to Sochaux (National) in the previous round. In a press releasethe Bretons explain:

“It is with amazement and total incomprehension that Stade Rennais FC learned of the declarations of members of the management of Puy Foot 43. Supporting amateur football, the SRFC, as it had already done in the previous round with the FC Sochaux (which warmly thanked him), once again donated its share of the proceeds from the French Cup match to Puy Foot 43, keeping only a sum strictly covering the expenses of its trip to St-Etienne. »

The Reds and Blacks also regretted the behavior of the locals ahead of the match, in particular the damage to Rennes supporters’ vehicles. But also, the lack of welcome from Auvergne leaders. Before concluding by congratulating the performance of the amateurs: “Stade Rennais FC nevertheless wishes to salute the sporting journey of Puy Foot 43 carried out by its coach Stéphane Dief and wishes its valiant opponent from last night to access the National Championship at the end of the season.”
