Referee Guiherme Ceretta was briefly withdrawn from his duties at Lionel Messi’s next game. As The Athletic reports, pictures of the referee were published on social media showing him wearing a jersey from Messi’s club Inter Miami. The association then suspended him from the Inter Miami game against Orlando City on Saturday (22.30 CET).
As the Professional Referee Organization (PRO) announced, Ceretta was withdrawn from the game due to a possible conflict situation. The game will now be refereed by Jamie Herrera.
