Real Madrid Vetoes French Players for Olympics: Thuram and Tchouameni Set to Miss Out

The Olympic Games are approaching and with them the possibility of seeing the best players of the France team be selected is dwindling. Real Madrid sent a letter to the FFF in which the Spanish club affirmed that no French player would be released for the competition. “Real does what it wants. These are his players, his employees, if he doesn’t want to leave his players for the Olympics it’s his choice.”includes Marcus Thuram at a press conference, who also expressed the wish not to go there either. “I know that it is a great source of pride for any French player to play in the Olympics. Then there is a coach who is Thierry Henry and who will make his list. If I am called upon, I will respond but I will not publicly apply to do so.”

The 26-year-old striker is not concerned by the Madrid problem, unlike Aurélien Tchouameni. In the past, the midfielder has already expressed his desire to participate but Real’s veto is too strong. He will not object. “Obviously, playing the Olympics in your country is something extraordinary. But he’s our employer. If Real decided to veto it, we have nothing to say. It’s not really a good thing to be at odds with your employer but we will be the first supporters.” Thierry Henry probably expected it a little but here are two names that he will be able to cross off his pre-summoned list.
