While his body hasn’t really left him alone lately, Rafael Nadal is preparing for his clay-court season. The Spaniard obviously aims to arrive in good shape at Roland-Garros, his garden. And for some, the 37-year-old could well succeed in regaining his true level for the French Open.

All tennis fans are looking forward to this event. The 2024 edition could be the last for Rafael Nadal. 14-time winner of the French Open, the Spaniard has had a mixed start to the season since his return to the circuit. Suffering from numerous pains which prevented him from moving properly, Rafael Nadal had to withdraw from theAustralian Open then to theIndian Wells and to Miami.

Nadal prepares for his clay-court season

The Spanish legend should now focus on his clay-court season. “Ideally, Rafael Nadal would like to play maybe three tournaments before Roland-Garros. He’s the type of player who needs matches. Monte‐Carlo has always been a successful event for him, and we can think that he would like to play again in Madrid, in his country of origin,” indicated the former player. Andy Riddick recently. And for some, Rafael Nadal could return to its best level once Roland-Garros.

“At Roland Garros, he will be at his best”

“I don’t think he’s going to leave us. I think he will play well. I think he’s just a little scared because the operation (on his hip he underwent a year ago, editor’s note) is bothering him. But if he starts playing on clay, he will no longer be afraid because he will start playing and if he gets back in shape, I am convinced that at Roland‐Garros and the Olympic Games, he will will be at its best. For me it’s more of a battle against himself, he has to free himself and get out what he has in him, because when he went to Australia he played well. But he played a match where he hurt himself a little, then he worried a lot. But on earth, it will hurt a lot less,” explained the former world number 7. Emilio Sanchez in comments reported by We Love Tennis. Only time will tell if the compatriot of Rafael Nadal is right.
