With an investment of 39,938.00 euros, the Capital City Council provides its support to the Maxoarco Sports Club to hold this renowned event, which marks a milestone as it is held for the first time in the Canary Islands. The competition will feature the participation of 241 archers from 22 European countries, including six representatives from Fuerteventura, three of whom belong to the organizing club itself.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, expressed his enthusiasm for being able to collaborate “in a European-level event that also projects a positive image of the island as a sports destination.”
For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Juan Jiménez, stressed the importance of this agreement for the revitalization of sports on the island and the promotion of physical activity among citizens. “This agreement reflects our commitment to the development of archery in Fuerteventura.”
José Félix Benítez and Paqui Hernández, representatives of the Maxoarco Club, showed their satisfaction for the collaboration of the Puerto del Rosario City Council in the organization of this sporting event. “These are days of a lot of work and pressure, because we are facing a European competition, but we are looking forward to seeing the high-level archers who have registered to participate in it in action.”

One of the most anticipated moments will be the flag parade of all participating countries, scheduled for March 19 starting at 5:00 p.m. on Avenida Marítima in Puerto del Rosario.
