An era is ending at PSG – also in the Ligue 1 champions’ payroll. After the big earners Lionel Messi and Neymar left the club last year, only Kylian Mbappé stood out enormously compared to his colleagues. But the 25-year-old attacker is also playing his last season in Paris, which means the structure will stabilize again for the time being. In the league’s salary comparison, however, most of the other professionals at the champions are a bed of roses compared to those of the other teams.

The ten highest-earning professionals in France’s upper house play for PSG. This is according to the salary list, which the trade newspaper “L’Équipe” published on Thursday, as it does every year. Mbappé is almost 450 percent higher than Ousmane Dembélé (26) and Marquinhos (29), whose gross monthly salary is estimated by the newspaper at 1.12 million euros. Mbappé collects 6 million euros gross per month. With an expected move to Real Madrid, he will probably have to say goodbye to such a high salary.

In the top 10, the salary range is between places four and ten at 1.11 million euros gross per month for Lucas Hérnandez (28) and 700,000 euros for Nordi Mukiele (26). Then the PSG team is interrupted. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (34) comes into play. The former Dortmund player Aubameyang is listed by Olympique Marseille with a gross salary of 650,000 euros per month. Wissam Ben Yedder (33) is just as high at AS Monaco. There are six other players who still earn at least half a million euros a month, including the two top earners from Olympique Lyon, the veterans Alexandre Lacazette (32) and Nemanja Matic (35).

Stark disparity among coaches: Luis Enrique is also way ahead compared to players

The discrepancy between the clubs becomes particularly noticeable when looking at coaching salaries. The average rose to 153,000 euros per month, while PSG coach Luis Enrique is 600 percent above this mark. The Spaniard receives almost a million, 923,250 euros, as his basic salary. For comparison: The coach with the lowest salary according to “L’Équipe”, Carles Martínez, can only expect two percent of what his compatriot earns in Paris. Martínez is listed at 20,000 euros.

And Luis Enrique even outperforms the trainers with the second and third highest salaries by almost four times. Adi Hütter at AS Monaco, listed in second place, receives 250,000 euros gross per month. Patrick Vieira (Strasbourg) and Paulo Fonseca (Lille) are listed with 220,000 euros each. Luis Enrique, meanwhile, even keeps up with the player comparison. Only five professionals in the league, five of his stars at PSG, earn more than the coach.
