Pinar Karsiyaka pivot Vernon Carey Jr. suffered a serious injury to the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his knee, ending his season. The injury occurred during a 49-point defeat to Besiktas. Carey Jr., who will require surgery, could take up to nine months to recover. In his first season in Turkey, he averaged 17.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in the Basketball Champions League and 14.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in the domestic competition. After spending four years at Duke and being selected by the Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft, he played between the NBA and G-League before moving to Europe.
