Peru Confirms Participation in I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024

The Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) confirmed Peru’s participation in the I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024, which will take place from April 4 to 14 in Bolivia. The national delegation will be made up of 185 athletes.

At this event, in addition to Peru, there will also be athletes from Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Venezuela and Bolivia. This is why the COP will announce the standard bearers of this contest today at its headquarters in La Videna.

“The I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024 It will bring together athletes between 14 and 20 years old and Peru will compete with a delegation of 185 athletes in 24 sports disciplines. The development of our athletes from a very young age at the international level to enter high competition is very important,” said the president of the COP, Renzo Manyari.

This event will have competitions in 24 sports and 27 sports disciplines and will bring together 1,500 athletes from seven countries.

Peru will compete in athletics, badminton, handball, baseball, road cycling, MTB cycling, boxing, fencing, futsal, gymnastics, judo, karate, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, Basque pelota, squash, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon, floor volleyball and beach volleyball.

Among the 185 athletes traveling to the city of Sucre (2,750 meters above sea level), Bolivia, are Cayetana Chirinos (athletics), Fernanda Munar and Namie Miyahira (badminton), José Rodríguez (cycling), Mariana Soriano (fencing), Jheysi Paredes (weightlifting), Yasmin Silva (swimming), the U19 floor volleyball team among others.
