Perez receives a three-start penalty for the Australian GP – Motor sports – Sportacentrs.com

Perez was on the run-in lap of the first qualifying round when he lost track to Nico Hilkenberg on the flying lap at Turn 13 at the Melbourne circuit. After qualifying, the judges sentenced the “Red Bull” pilot to a penalty of three starting places.

As the Mexican had finished third, the penalty means he will start from sixth position for Sunday’s race. The third starting place therefore belongs to Lando Norris, the fourth – to Charles LeClair, but the fifth starting place went to the host Oskars Piastri as a result of the incident.

Race start at 6:00 in the morning Latvian time.
