In Milan last weekend, Paternò Badminton confirmed its primacy in its group, thus guaranteeing access to the play offs for Serie A.
These will be held at the Pala Badminton in Milan, simultaneously with the championship play-offs, on 11 and 12 May. The four teams that will compete for promotion are BV Paternò, Novi Ligure, Uberesch (a team from Trentino) and BC Messina.
The top two teams in the round-robin group will advance to Serie A. Coach Gianfrancesco Fiorito declared that it will be a very difficult weekend, as the level is very high and all the opponents have a top-level team, enriched by the presence of Danish, Bulgarian, Russian and Spanish players.
However, with great pride, he underlined that in the Paternò Badminton team there are no foreigners, but is made up exclusively of Italians, including two brothers from Paternò, Giulia and Marcantonio Fiorito, and two players from Malles, Matthias Frack and Anna Hahennoger.
Despite the challenges, the coach was confident, stating that the team will give their all in Milan and will try to achieve positive results. He also expressed satisfaction with the results obtained so far, recalling the successes in the first three important tournaments in Palermo, Caltanissetta and Misterbianco.
In April, the team will face two more Grand Prix and the Coni Trophy, where last year they ranked second in Italy.
