Parma Clima set to face German champions Heidenheim in second outing of the season

Second outing of the season for Parma Clima who will face the German champions Heidenheim tomorrow afternoon at the Cavalli stadium (obviously with free entry), currently busy preparing for the next Bundesliga on the Piacenza diamond.

The match will kick off at 1.00pm and will be played over the traditional nine innings. Compared to last weekend’s match, the Ducali will once again have pitcher Matteo Bocchi at their disposal, fresh from his experience at the Global Games in Osaka. The Parma pitcher will alternate with Scotti and Santana: if necessary, the Parma technical staff will be able to count on reinforcements from Oltretorrente and possibly also on Gabriele Angioi.

However, there is no news regarding attack and defense. After the Easter weekend, the arrival of EU and foreign players will begin and the name of the athlete who will be assigned the third visa will be revealed.

Heidenheim, former team of our Andres Perez, represents a perfect testing ground to evaluate the current form of Parma Clima. The Germans beat Paderborn 3 to 1 in the series that awarded the 2023 German title and enter the season with the aim of confirming themselves at the top. Heidenheim’s ranks include pitchers Sven Schuller and “Duke” Von Schamann, recently selected with Bocchi and Mineo for Team Europe led by Marco Mazzieri who played in Japan. Among the most representative players are the Dutch international Mike Bolsenbrock and the veteran (born 1983) Simon Guehring.

The last official match between the two teams dates back to the 2022 edition of the European Champions Cup when Parma Clima won 12-0 in the qualifying round on the Bonn pitch.
