Paris Lee’s Game-Winning Shot Propels Asvel to Victory Over BCM in Betclic Elite

A liberating shot, in pain. Asvel was scared this Sunday against BCM, during the 26th day of Betclic Elite. The third in the Championship almost lost for the second time this season at home, pushed into overtime by a solid Gravelines-Dunkerque team, but managed to win (86-83), thanks to a basket at 3 points from Paris Lee, released almost at the buzzer.

In a tight match until the final seconds, the two teams were tied at half-time (41-41, 20th). The Northerners, led by Chris Babb (13 pts and 3 rebounds) and Michael Stockton (15 pts and 5 assists), widened a small gap at the end of the third quarter (55-60, 30th) and even counted until eight points ahead (55-63, 32nd), before seeing the Villeurbannais come back and offer the Rhone public a suspenseful money time.

Paris Leeberateur

At the start of the last minute, Paris Lee already succeeded with a decisive three-point shot to put Lyon-Villeurbanne back a short distance in front (69-68). Tajuan Agee (10 points) only scores one free throw out of two for BCM (69-69), before Mike Scott takes an authoritarian rebound to then find the circle (71-69). Landry Nnoko equalizes five seconds from the buzzer (71-71) to send his team into overtime.

Asvel of Mike Scott (23 points) and Joeffrey Lauvergne (9 pts and 6 rebounds) quickly took an eight-point lead in two minutes (79-71), before once again seeing the BCM come back in the final seconds (83-83 15 seconds from the buzzer). It took a crazy 3-point shot from Paris Lee (15 points and 5 assists in total) to see the Villeurbanne win.
