Paris 2024 Olympic Games: and here is the official stamp

Celebrating Olympism and the Paris, City of Lights Olympic Games… A century, after the first “special stamp” dedicated to the Games and heralding the 1924 Olympic Games, La Poste is issuing a stamp in the colors of the Games.

At the time, the Seine and Notre Dame were in the spotlight. This time, if the Seine is displayed again, the Eiffel Tower takes all the light. These strong symbols of heritage are combined with an athletics track and bouncing balls. The red color of 1924 gives way to turquoise, pink and gold, reminiscent of the “neo art deco” of the visual identity. of Paris 2024, which will be visible in particular on all competition sites. Finally, the face of Marianne, emblem of the 2024 Games, is displayed in its Olympic and Paralympic version.

“The stamp is part of the history of the Games, there is one each time,” recalls Joachim Roncin, design director at Paris 2024. What is quite incredible is that this stamp is not only for collections, since it will be used by everyone to send their mail. » And in particular to the 15,000 athletes who, in the village, will have a post office.

Sold in preview on Friday March 29

“We had given a certain number of graphic elements to the Post Office, in particular the look of the Games. They were greatly inspired by it, using many symbols. We had not imagined that the visual identity of the Games could be reproduced in such a small format, I am amazed by the result. This stamp really formalizes our look. We have been working for years on the meaning we want to give to these Games and all this work can be found on a stamp. It’s moving. »
