Paperdi Caserta scores the fifth success of their season in the National Serie B. Ciro dell’Imperio’s Bianconeri conquer PalaCremonesi, beating Logiman Pallacanestro Crema with a total score of 72-82; very solid game from Paolo Paci, who finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 30 rating, supported by 18 points from Tomas Cavallero and 16 from Denis Alibegovic.
The hosts use the pick and roll a lot to be able to move the Juventus defense, but Caserta responds well with five points from Tomas Cavallero (7-9 in the 4th minute). Minibreak of 5-0 for Crema with Ianuale and Tsetserokou for the new Crema lead, but Juve doesn’t want to know and finds their leaders in Alibegovic, Paci and Cavallero: partial of 9-2 which leads Caserta to end the first quarter with the lead at 16-19.
The Bianconeri held on strenuously in the lead, repelling Crema’s attempts to get closer in the first minutes. Crema tries again to get back into the lead, finding new life from three points with two shots from Ianuale for Logiman’s new lead (46-44). But Paperdi returns to put the padlock on her own basket, placing enormous pressure on the pick and rolls which lead to many turnovers by the opponents (19 in total), while in attack Paolo Paci makes pots and covers, between baskets and assists for Mehmedoviq: he arrives a super partial of 5-17 for the Bianconeri, concluded by Cavallero’s buzzer beater who wrote the double-digit lead at 51-61 in the 30th minute.
The inertia is totally on the side of the Caserta players, who also manage to extend the lead to +15 in the 33rd minute with baskets from Mehmedoviq (53-68). Oboe tries to get going after a walk-on game, but Denis Alibegovic also takes the lead and always keeps Crema at a distance, who is unable to overcome the nine-point margin. Juve held the lead until the end and thus kept their hopes of salvation alive.
