Panama’s Archers Shine at South American Championship, Set National Records

Brazil/Panamanian archers won five medals, one silver and four bronze, and set two national records during the South American Archery Championship and World Ranking Championship, which ended this Sunday in Brazil, top-level events, on the way to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The silver medalthe first for Panama in the South American, it was won by the women’s composite team integrated to Lineth Luo, Astrid Barry and Adriannis Knight. On the way to this historic achievement for Panamanian archerythey defeated Peru 216 to 194 and in the final they fell to Brazilin a tight score, from 225 to 219.

The Panamanian delegation also obtained Bronze medalls in it World Team Ranking Championshipwhich is disputed simultaneously, through the teams of Female Recurve Bowmade up of the archers Emma Durán, Gisela Cowan and Miriam González y Feminine Compositeintegrated to Lineth Luo, Astrid Barry and Adriannis Knight.

The Recurve Archers they faced Chilewinning by shoot off the set 5 -4. For its part, the Women’s Composite archers they defeated Peruby pizarra from 208 to 203.

It should be noted that the archer, Gisela Cowanof Female Recurve Bow imposed a national record ranking 6th in the event, with a score of 627, achieving a historical marking for the country in its category.
