Panamanian Iván Herrera makes St. Louis Cardinals’ roster for ‘Opening Day’

Good news for Panamanian baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB) made the roster official for the ‘Opening Day’ of Major League Baseball (MLB) to be held on Thursday, March 28 and Panamanian Iván Herrera is on the list.

The Cardinals will have the tough challenge of facing the Los Angeles Dodgers as a visitor. That is why the head coach, Oliver Marmol decided to activate 26 players, including the 23-year-old Panamanian receiver.

During the 2024 preseason, Herrera recorded 36 total bases, five runs and 12 hits.

Receivers: Willson Contreras and Iván Herrera.
