Anderlecht’s engine is running at full speed again. The Purple & White is more than ever Union’s biggest title competitor.
Analyst Patrick Goots believes in Gazet van Antwerpen that it took a long time before Anderlecht was seen as a title candidate. “A few weeks ago they were still watching Club Brugge,” Goots notes. “That strikes me the most.”
According to Goots, everything is still possible. Although he does see a major disadvantage for Anderlecht.
He thinks that the motivation at Union is slightly greater. “Anderlecht will have to count on men like Hazard, Vertonghen and Schmeichel to do the preparatory work.”
