Bennedict Mathurin, 21-year-old guard for the Indiana Pacers, will have to undergo surgery on his right shoulder next week which will force him to end his sophomore season early.
The franchise has announced that a full recovery is expected for the former Arizona player, who should be back available in time for the next training camp.
Mathurin was scoring 14.5 points with 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 26 minutes per game.
Bad blow for the ambitions of the young Pacers, who lose one of the most incisive athletes available to Carlisle, as evidenced by his different performance between victories and defeats:
Bennedict Mathurin has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his right shoulder, an injury which will require surgery.
He will miss the remainder of the 2023-24 season and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.
