ÖSV teams out early in the parallel slalom in Winterberg

Austria’s three snowboard teams were all eliminated in the quarterfinals of the final World Cup competition in Winterberg in the parallel slalom. Andreas Prommegger/Sabine Schöffmann were already confirmed as ball winners after two successes this season; they were eliminated on Sunday just as early as Arvid Auner/Claudia Riegler and Fabian Obmann/Daniela Ulbing. The ÖSV finished the season with six individual wins and two team wins.

“The ball in the team competition and second in the overall ranking and in the parallel RTL – it was a mega season for me,” said Prommegger. In the men’s category, Benjamin Karl won the overall World Cup ahead of Prommegger, and that was also the result in the giant slalom ranking.

In the women’s category, Schöffmann came third in the overall ranking when the German Ramona Hofmeister won – she also came third in the slalom ranking. All three ratings went to Hofmeister. “If I hadn’t injured my hand so close to the two races in Poland, maybe even more would have been possible,” explained Schöffmann, but called her performance “very cool.”
