Orlando Magic Ends Three-Game Losing Streak with Dominant Win over Memphis Grizzlies

The Orlando Magic ended a three-game losing streak with a comfortable victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in a 118-88 draw.

Up to seven local players added double-digit scorers: Wendell Carter Jr. with 15 points and 13 rebounds; Jalen Suggs added another 15; Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero (13 each); Cole Anthony (15); Markelle Fultz (12) and Joe Ingles (11).

“It was an opportunity to get our swagger back,” Wendell Carter Jr. told the outlet. ESPN. “We were a little off,” she admitted.

For his part, Orlando coach Jamahl Mosley acknowledged after the clash that his losing streak did not worry him at all.

«Just because you don’t win doesn’t mean you’re not playing good basketball. So you just follow the process. And that’s what our guys did tonight,” he explained. “Obviously the best thing is that we have achieved victory, but they have done it in the correct way, as in previous games,” he added.

Jordan Goodwin led the Grizzlies with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Brandon Clarke added 13 points in his second game post-Achilles injury.

This victory allowed the Magic to move one and a half games away from the fourth-placed New York Knicks. With eight games remaining, they are fifth with 43-31, and are followed behind by the Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers respectively.

“The loss against the Clippers gave us energy,” admitted Carter Jr. “We have struggled in several games this year, but we are getting to the heart of the season and every victory is very important,” he highlighted.
