Ontinyent Sports Hall to Host National Children’s Jiu Jitsu Open Next Week

The Ontinyent sports hall will once again be a meeting point for martial arts fans next week.. It will be concretely Saturday, March 23, with the celebration of the National Children’s Jiu Jitsu Open organized by the Valencian Judo Federation, in the modalities of “fighting”, “ne-waza” and “duo”.

Specifically, the day, which will take place in the morning and afternoon in the pavilion, will host the mini-benjamines and benjamines competitions from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and those in the juvenile and infant categories from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Since the signing of the agreement, the city has hosted the regional cup for judo grassroots categories; the Spanish Veterans Judo Cup; the Spanish Cup of Jiu Jitsu CV under-16, under-18 and under-21; the XXXVIII Regional Wushu Championship, and now the National Jiu Jitsu Open. The city is scheduled to host new competitions soon.

The Sports Councilor, Ferran Gandia, pointed out that “the agreement that the city council signed with the Valencian Judo Federation last year, which made us the 3rd regional sub-headquarters of the Federation, is serving to make Ontinyent a very active city within from the world of martial arts. We equipped the pavilion with new tatami mats provided by the federation and we are hosting competitions of various modalities. On this occasion we will be able to see the evolution of the little ones, and it will surely be a most interesting day to which we encourage everyone to attend.”
