Ollainville Inaugurates New Sports Complex with Judoka Clarisse Agbégnénou

On March 23, the municipality of Ollainville inaugurated its new sports complex with the presence of judoka Clarisse Agbégnénou.

The judoka inspires and the youth are active in Ollainville. As Jean-Michel Giraudeau, mayor of the town, indicated, “ sport is an opportunity » and residents are lucky enough to have access to a brand new sports complex with team sports fields, multi-sports hall and a dojo.

« This new public sports facility is part of a policy aimed at meeting the expectations of Ollainvilloissupports the city councilor. It was created to allow our residents of all ages to practice their favorite sport and also new sporting disciplines, made available to our schools and colleges, it is above all a place of meeting, connection, teaching and future competitiveness. » The sports complex is named after Clarisse Agbégnénou, a 31-year-old French judokate competing in less than 63 kg.

An inauguration that will go down in history

For the inauguration on Saturday March 23, the children of Ollainville hosted various highlights. Clarisse Agbégnénou was welcomed by a guard of honor of elected officials from the Municipal Youth Council (CMJ) who each carried a letter of her first or last name.

Student volunteers from La Roche elementary school sang in chorus, under the supervision of musical instructor Emilie Pomarede, two pieces on the theme of sport, “Ensemble” by Grand Corps Malade and “La gymnastique” by Jean-Marie Gougeon and Cyril Froger.

The young people registered at the city’s leisure center performed a choreography to catchy music which motivated Clarisse Agbégnénou to join them on the dance floor. The elected officials of the CMJ, dressed in the five colors of the Olympic rings, shared on the microphone a letter of encouragement for Clarisse Agbégnénou who is preparing for the Paris Olympic Games, whose judo events are scheduled for next Tuesday, July 30.

The guest of honor danced with the young people registered at the Ollainville leisure center. The dojo is occupied by three sections of the Ollainville sports association.

The judo, taekwondo and Viet Vo Dao sections presented demonstrations in front of Clarisse Agbégnénou, elected officials and large families. The Ollainville sports association (ASO), which brings together 16 sections in total, currently has 1,143 members, including around forty judokas, children and adults combined. “ Among the judokates present on the tatami today, there is perhaps a future Olympic champion who will have learned the techniques in this local sports complex », underlines Frédérique Camilleri who took up her duties as prefect of Essonne on March 4.

The equipment, with an area of ​​400 m², represents a total amount of 2.3 million euros. Its construction benefited from several subsidies: 310,271 euros from the Essonne Departmental Council, 168,000 euros from the “5,000 sports fields, generation 2024” project from the National Sports Agency, 150 000 euros as part of an Equipment Grant for State territories, 100,000 euros financed by the Ile-de-France region and 90,000 euros from an urban partnership project.

The double Olympic champion judoka presented an official kimono to the municipality of Ollainville. The high-level sportswoman took the time to interact with the public, take souvenir photos and offer signings.
