Novak Djokovic Uncertain About Next Coach After Split with Goran Ivanisevic

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who announced on Wednesday the end of his collaboration with Goran Ivanisevic, said on Thursday that he did not know who his next coach will be or even if he will have one, during a press conference in Belgrade.

Djokovic has been coached by the 2001 Wimbledon winner since 2018 and has won 12 of his career’s 24 Grand Slam titles under his guidance.

“As for the search for a new coach, I don’t have a specific idea and I don’t know if there will be one,” the Serb said. “I have always had coaches by my side since I was young. I try to think about what might be good for me. »

At 36, the Serbian had a mediocre start to the 2024 season by his high standards, losing in the semi-final of the Australian Open to eventual winner, Italian Jannik Sinner.

He then lost in the third round at Indian Wells against another Italian player, Luca Nardi (96th in the world), which led him to withdraw from the Masters 1000 in Miami, to spare himself.

He should make his return next month at the Monte-Carlo tournament (April 7-14), before lining up at Roland-Garros (May 20-June 9).
