Things haven’t been going well for Novak Djokovic recently. Now the Serbian superstar has pulled the ripcord and separated from his long-time trainer.

At the Australia Open, Novak Djokovic failed in the semifinals against Jannik Sinner, and at the Masters tournament in Miami he suffered a sensational exit in the third round against world number 96 Luca Nardi. The tennis year for Novak Djokovic has not gone as planned so far. The world number 1 is far behind its expectations.

Now the 36-year-old Serb has caused a stir and parted ways with his coach Goran Ivanisevic. “Goran and I decided a few days ago not to work together anymore. Our chemistry on the court had its ups and downs, but our friendship was always rock-solid,” Djokovic wrote on Instagram.

Djokovic and the former Wimbledon champion have worked together since 2018. “With Goran I not only improved my serve, but also broke records, won twelve Grand Slam titles (and a few finals) – and also had a lot of fun,” said the world number 1 in praise of the Croatian coach.

The big question now is: Who will be in Djokovic’s box from April 8th? Then the tournament in Monte Carlo is coming up and with it the return of Djokovic, who had skipped the currently running Miami Masters.
