Aída Román, Mariana Avitia and Luis “Abuelo” Álvarez were left out of the Mexican teams that will attend the Games

Mexico defined the archery team that will be seeking glory in the next edition of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

A list that is headed by Alejandra Valencia in the women’s category and Matías Grande in the men’s team.

And in which in a surprising way Left out was the historic Aída Román, who after a long selection process could not be included in the final list.

Román, silver medalist in London 2012 and who was looking for his fifth Olympic Games, was not the only figure who was eliminated from the tournament since Luis “Abuelo” Álvarez, bronze medalist in Tokyo 2020, was also left out of the Mexican National Team.

In addition to the losses of Luis Álvarez and Aída Román, Also left behind were Mariana Avitia, bronze in London 2012, and Valentina Vázquez, junior Pan American champion.

The women’s team is completed by Ángela Ruiz and Ana Paula Vázquez, while Javier Rojas and Bruno Martínez stayed on the men’s team.
