North Korea has informed Japan that it will not be able to host a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup next Tuesday, the president of the Japan Football Federation said on Thursday.
North Korea “told us that the match could not take place in Pyongyang. They asked us during half-time if we could organize (the meeting) in Japan,” said Kozo Tashima, after their first qualifying match which took place in Tokyo (Japanese victory 1-0).
