Are German politicians really bothered by the fact that the German national team’s jersey will in future be manufactured in a different factory in Southeast Asia, just by an American company?

Treason to the Fatherland! This is how one should and must understand it when Robert Habeck, the Federal Minister of Economics, now accuses the German Football Association (DFB) of lacking “local patriotism” because of the announced change from Adidas to Nike. Why do ministers actually intervene so vigorously?

Because they are seriously bothered by the fact that a German company that has the Germany jerseys manufactured in one factory in Southeast Asia is being replaced by an American company that will soon have the Germany jerseys manufactured in the other factory in Southeast Asia? Or is it because they feel they have to get involved because of the attention that such contradiction guarantees?
