Mike Williams joins Aaron Rodgers’ Jets

WR Mike Williams found a new team after leaving the Chargers, it is the New York Jets to be the new receiver for QB Aaron Rodgers.

The contract is only for one year for up to 15 million USD with incentives, according to several reports.

Williams, 29, is coming off a torn ACL that occurred in Week 3 against the Vikings. Last season he only played three games, but had 19 receptions, 249 yards and a TD.

Chosen with the number 7 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Williams has always suffered from significant injuries. In the last two years he only played 16 games, so his last season of 1,000 yards or more occurred in 2021, however, he achieved this twice in his career (2019 and 2021). He also led the league in receiving yards in 2019 (20.4).

Throughout 88 games played in his career, Williams has recorded 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 TDs. He can now boast receiving passes from Philip Rivers, Justin Herbert and Aaron Rodgers.

Were the Browns right to give him a contract extension right now?

Former Patriots players upset by recent documentary about their dynasty

The new docuseries The Dinasty: New England Patriots, explores several themes of this NFL team during its 20 years of dominating the league. However, its protagonists feel “somewhat deceived.”

After seeing the final product and its 10 parts in Apple TV+Devin McCourty along with Rodney Harrison, former Pats players, discussed this topic in NBC.

He seemed so focused on Tom and Bill,” said former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison, referring to QB Tom Brady and former HC Bill Belichick. “AND [el propietario Robert] Kraft. I didn’t enjoy it. I left it. Because it didn’t tell the stories… It focused on some things that I didn’t feel. And I stopped seeing it. They interviewed me for five or six hours in New York, and the only thing I said on the show was: ‘Fuck everyone. Screw everyone.’ That’s all. That’s all I saw myself say. I have a lot of influence on Tom and how I was treated and the things that happened that led me to sign here. That was very important. You know, I just… wasn’t a big fan of her.”

McCourty then added that he was also interviewed for 4-5 hours in New York and another 2-3 hours in Massachusetts. Although he was initially excited by the idea, the execution made him disagree with the producers’ vision.

“I felt a little cheated,” McCourty said. “I watched and I was like, man, they only mention the things I said that could be seen as negative to Bill, and it was the only thing [utilizada]. Like, I mean, I had different kinds of quick one-liners about things, but the longest I talked was from 2016 about Trump and the letter [que Belichick envió en apoyo de su candidatura a la presidencia]. And I thought that was probably the worst part. That everything we all gave during the 20 years that this encompassed, they just focused on anything that was negative.”

For example, he mentioned the 2010 season and what his arrival was like, that of Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, etc. In no case did they want to talk about this topic.

And, of course, they noticed that he dedicated a lot of time to criticizing the figure of Bill Belichick, even staining his legacy with very negative comments.

“Bill was one of the main reasons we helped a guy get out of jail after 28 years,” McCourty said. “He was one of the first people who, after reading and telling everyone this story, raised his hand and said, ‘How can we help?’ He said: ‘I am willing to sign my name on a letter that will go to the governor.’ And you know the impact of Bill Belichick’s name on anything in Massachusetts. And I thought that showed a lot of growth and change in how I viewed things outside of football compared to previous years. And it was like, ‘Well, that makes him look good, so we’re not going to include him.’”

Rodney Harrison added the following from his former coach, so harshly criticized in the documentary:

“Bill was a great coach,” Harrison said. “They act like the last three or four years, because the Patriots struggled, Bill can’t coach. If you give me a game and you give me Bill’s strengths and weaknesses, I prefer him over anyone else… I just didn’t like the way it was done [este programa]. … I don’t think he got enough credit, enough respect, enough support. “This guy is the best coach of all time.”

Several critics pointed to this program as a mere excuse to elevate the status of Robert Kraft, the team’s owner, at the expense of other employees. It seems that the players did not like it after seeing what it was like.

what do you think about his declarations? Have you seen this program or any related summary or notes?
