New York Giants Likely to Have New Starting Running Back Next Season

The New York Giants will likely count on a new starting running back next year.

According to multiple sources, the Giants will not place the franchise tag on running back Saquon Barkley.

For the first time in his career, the 27-year-old athlete will therefore be able to test the free agent market. A return to New York could be a possibility, but Barkley could also decide to align with a new roster.

With the salary cap increasing by $30 million, New York could offer Barkley a very attractive contract. As the price of a second franchise player tag is around $13M for the season, the contractual offer could be a little less expensive if we add seasons.

Let’s say that the price to acquire Saquon Barkley is between $12M and $15M per season, here is the list of probable teams according to sports betting sites (in order according to the odds): the Houston Texans, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.
