VfL Wolfsburg not only has a new coach, but also a new assistant coach. Patrick Hasenhüttl assists his father Ralph with his new role in the German Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old former professional, who played for Unterhaching and Austria Klagenfurt, among others, is expanding the new coaching team in Wolfsburg. It is his first position as an assistant coach. Hasenhüttl only recently ended his active career for health reasons (all information >>>).

The Englishman Craig Fleming is also new to the staff. He was most recently “Director of Development” at Derby County and supports Hasenhüttl as he did during his time at Southampton.
Hasenhüttl’s coaching staff is completed by the German Rainer Widmayer, as Wolfsburg announced on its website. “For the time being, the team will receive support from Rainer Widmayer, who has been acting as an interface to the academy in the transition area since September last year,” said the club.
