Despite the 97:111 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Orlando (37 wins, 28 losses) remains fifth in the East. Franz Wagner contributed 13 points against Indiana, his brother Moritz had nine points. Orlando have won 13 of their last 17 games. “That’s the way it is in this league. Once you get comfortable, you can get blown away right away, and I think that’s what happened to us in the last two games,” said the Magic’s Cole Anthony.

Jimmy Butler scored 23 points while Duncan Robinson, Terry Rozier and Bam Adebayo each scored 16 points for the Heat. Miami lost their third straight and fell to eighth place in the East.

Anthony Davis wrote a small piece of NBA history in his Los Angeles Lakers’ 120:109 defeat of the Minnesota Timberwolves with an outstanding return of 27 points, 25 rebounds and seven steals. Never before had a player achieved at least 25 points, 25 rebounds and five steals in an NBA game.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Oklahoma City Thunder 93:124

The Oklahoma City Thunder had little trouble against the weak Memphis Grizzlies. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded 23 points and six assists. Oklahoma City won its third straight game to remain at the top of the Western Conference.

The only bad news for the Thunder came when second-leading scorer Jalen Williams left the field in the second quarter with a sprained right ankle and did not return.

Philadelphia 76ers @ New York Knicks 79:73

The fans in Madison Square Garden were offered very little when the Philadelphia 76ers lost 79:73 to the New York Knicks around Isaiah Hartenstein. For the first time since 2016, both teams scored fewer than 80 points in an NBA game.

The most effective player was Jalen Brunson from the Knicks with 19 points. The winning team’s best shooter was Kelly Oubre Jr. with 18 points.

Houston Rockets @ Sacramento Kings 112:104

Houston defeated the Sacramento Kings 112-104 on Sunday after the Rockets lost leading scorer Alperen Sengun to a right knee and ankle injury.

Fred VanVleet scored 22 points for Houston and Jalen Green added 19 points. The Rockets are in 11th place in the Western Conference.
