During the Minnesota Timberwolves’ defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, Gobert received a technical foul for a gesture implying that a referee, who had just called him a sixth personal foul and therefore removed him from the match, was corrupt. “I cost my team the match. It was an immature reaction,” commented the 31-year-old French international insider after the meeting.

Gobert was therefore fined for having “directed an inappropriate and unprofessional gesture towards an official, then publicly criticizing the refereeing”, wrote the NBA in a press release.
