Podoroska, who is ranked 84th in the WYA ranking, had lost to the Spanish Nuria Párrizas (134th) by 7-5, 6-7 (4) and 6-3. However, Badosa’s subsequent dismissal allowed him to take her place.

In the first round, the woman from Rosario will face the American Ashlyn Krueger, 19 years old and number 71 in the classification.

After 16 years, there are two Argentines in the Top-100 ranking

Podoroska, who had just been eliminated in the first round of the WTA 250 in Austin in the United States, is one of the two Argentine players who are within the Top-100 of the ranking. She is ranked 84th.

The other prominent tennis player in the country is Lourdes Carlé, who this week appears in 99th place on the rankings. “She got it after a long search and a lot of work,” highlighted the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) on its social networks.
