Nadal: Before Roland-Garros, a big announcement comes!

After experiencing a start to the season marked by injuries and repeated withdrawals, Rafael Nadal is slowly heading towards Roland-Garros. A 2024 edition which will begin on May 20, and which could turn out to be the last of the “Bull of Manacor”. While waiting for this event, Andy Roddick tried to predict “Rafa’s” clay-court schedule.

He’s the type of player who needs matches. Monte‐Carlo has always been a successful event for him, and one might think that he would like to play again in Madrid, in his country of origin,” said the former world number one.

“Now that they are 10-day tournaments, it probably increases the chances of seeing him in Madrid and Rome, but it will depend on the results. If he is eliminated prematurely in Madrid, I don’t see him waiting three weeks before Roland‐Garros. Monte‐Carlo will be very revealing of the state of his body. If he participates in this tournament, his schedule will be busier,” concludes the American about Rafael Nadal.
