Montsûrs Judo Club to Host Youth Interclub Tournament

The judo section of the Montsûrs Sports and Cultural Union (USCPM) is preparing an important youth interclub tournament. This gathering of young people aged 4 to 10 will naturally come from our club, but also from around ten other clubs in Mayen, confirms William Foucher, the responsible facilitator.

Montsûrais judo is booming. Today our section has more than 70 licensees, including around sixty young people. The use of our new dojo made it possible to add other disciplines and attract fans of the martial art,” explains Dominique Legros, secretary. To date, at least 200 athletes have registered to participate in educational fights. The children will be divided into groups of four and will be mixed between clubs. They will be classified according to age and weight. Everyone will be rewarded at the end of the tournament,” explains Benjamin Pillon, the teacher.

The first fights will begin at 10:45 a.m. with the baby chicks (from 2018 to 2020), then will follow at 1:30 p.m., the pre-chicks (2016 to 2017), and around 3:30 p.m. the chicks (2014 to 2015).

Saturday March 16, from 10 a.m., in the Raymond Letessier sports hall, Joseph de Maynard stadium, rue de Saint-Cénéré.
