In the second round, the 28-year-old from Styria was eliminated against number six seed Maria Celia Laborde (USA), most recently seventh at the Grand Slam in Tashkent. Laura Kallinger (-57/Judoring/W) showed a courageous fight against world champion and world number 1 Christa Deguchi (CAN/1) and only had to give up after 4:54 minutes in the Golden Score with Hansoku-make (disqualification, 3 shidos ) give up. Jacqueline Springer (Vienna Samurai/W) was on the mat against Sabina Giliazova (AIN) for a total of 7:12 minutes. The Russian, who started under a neutral flag and was most recently the Grand Slam winner in Tashkent, ultimately prevailed with a Waza-ari rating.
