Mixed Results for Austrian Judokas at Judo Grand Slam in Antalya

Austria still has to wait for measurable results at the Judo Grand Slam in Antalya (TUR): On the first day there were only respectable successes to report. Katharina Tanzer (-48/SU Noricum Leibnitz/ST) beat the Taipei Chinese Yi-Chun Shen in her opening fight with 2 Waza-ari scores in a hurry (22 seconds). In the second round, the 28-year-old from Styria was eliminated against number six seed Maria Celia Laborde (USA), most recently seventh at the Grand Slam in Tashkent. Laura Kallinger (-57/Judoring/W) showed a courageous fight against world champion and world number 1 Christa Deguchi (CAN/1) and only had to give up after 4:54 minutes in the Golden Score with Hansoku-make (disqualification, 3 shidos ) give up. Jacqueline Springer (Vienna Samurai/W) was on the mat against Sabina Giliazova (AIN) for a total of 7:12 minutes.
