Mike Muscala Returns to Oklahoma City Thunder for Rest of Season

An old acquaintance returns to Oklahoma City. Mike Muscala, who was already with the franchise for three and a half seasons, will sign with the Thunder until the end of the season. The interior had negotiated his termination with the Detroit Pistons after the market closed and is now signing as a free agent for the rest of the season.

In principle he will do so in exchange for the veteran’s minimum and his contract would end this July. Mark Daigneault’s men thus add an interior piece that can give Chet Holmgren some rest between now and the end of the regular season. Muscala had started the season with the Washington Wizards until he was traded to Detroit as part of Marvin Bagley’s move to the capital.

This year the interior is averaging just 13.8 minutes in a total of 37 games between the Wizards and Pistons. In this time of games his numbers are 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.
