Miami Open | Sinner has a scare with Griekspoor, but gets into the round of 16

The Italian Jannik Sinner (n.3) qualified this Sunday for the round of 16 of the Miami Open with comeback against the Dutch Tallon Greek track (n.26) by 5-7, 7-5 and 6-1 in two hours and 23 minutes.

This year’s Australian Open champion suffered in the first set and he couldn’t quite find his rhythm, but after a short break due to rain in the middle of the second set, he pressed the accelerator and turned the game around.

Semifinalist in Indian Wells, where the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz (n.2) ended his streak of 19 consecutive victories, Sinner will face the American Martin Damm in the next crossing (n.204) or to the Australian Christopher O’Connell (n.66). Sinner was a finalist last year in Miami, where he lost in the title match against the Russian Daniil Medvedev (n.4).
