Miami Heat’s Uncertain Lineup: Will Nikola Jovic Be the Key Player in Playoffs?

Miami Heat presents many doubts. Constantly hit by injuries, Erik Spoelstra has had to make adjustments practically every week, which has led him to a variety of quintets that means that at this point in the film no one is clear what the plan will be if they reach the playoffs and are all healthy.

Questioned about this issue, the head coach of the Florida organization explains that at least in the case of the player who occupies the power forward position alongside Bam Adebayo, he continues to trust Nikola Jovic above the rest, since he believes he is the one more offers you from such a position.

«The only thing I know is that both (Adebayo and Jovic) have great levels of skill. Both can have the ball. Both can happen. They both can make plays. Both can end up in the hoop. And they both feel very comfortable simply being facilitators,” he tells Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald in relation to his boys’ fluidity on the hardwood.

With Haywood Highsmith and Caleb Martin as other options, Spoelstra seems determined to keep his bet on Jovic; so much so that he has started the last 14 games that he has been available. In his second year on the team, the Serbian is averaging 6.5 points and 4.1 rebounds, with a fantastic 41.6 percent in triples.

There are more doubts about who would be the starting shooting guard. Terry Rozier, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are permanent fixtures, but the ‘two’ moves between Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson without any of them having any advantage according to the aforementioned journalist. Both have had injuries this season and still need to recover, but when the time comes it would not be surprising if Spoelstra chose to choose each one depending on the opponent and the moment.
