Miami Heat Bolsters Playoff Push Acquiring Patty Mills as Veteran Addition

With their sights set on the playoffs and on the path to reaching the NBA Finals again, the Miami Heat have now been reinforced with an illustrious league veteran such as Patty Mills; reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Florida organization has acquired the services of the Australian point guard for the remainder of the season as a free agent, since he was recently released by the Atlanta Hawks, a team with which he played 19 games in the current 2023-24 season.

Mills will provide the Heat with depth, outside shooting and, above all, experience. At 35 years old, he has played up to 95 playoff games and in 2014 – yes, a decade ago – he was part of the San Antonio Spurs team that won the ring by defeating the Miami Heat in the Finals.

As we say, among his qualities his offensive game stands out. In a 15-year career he shoots 39 percent from three-point range. And beyond his purely basketball capabilities, he has been noted on numerous occasions as a great leader and a fantastic teammate; It is not in vain that he won the NBA’s Sportsmanship Award in 2022.
